Introduction

“The problem is we don’t understand the problem” (Paul MacReady, engineer).  Facing multiple crises, how can lawyers re-envision their role as ‘healers of community woes’?  This workshop introduces a concept (institutionalised inequality) and a practice (coliberatory municipalism) and case studies, arguing for system change through legal intervention at the hyper-local level: to mobilise through generating a sense of economic suffrage from those who most often have least agency to make change happen.

Who Should Attened

Lawyers, legal students and practitioners, public law & town & country planning practitioners, new economy practitioners, solidarity economy practitioners, anyone who has experienced marginalisation/exclusion in their life and wish to contribute to "de-marginalising" social/economic experience.
